"Parenting: Are We Having
Fun Yet" by Char Wenc
 I
actually met Char Wenc in my National Speakers Association
of Illinois chapter. When I found out she had a book on
parenting, I told her I'd love to review it. Boy am I glad
I got a chance to read this book.
Do your children ever drive you
insane? Do you ever feel like you dont have a clue about
how to discipline your kids? Then you'll love "Parenting,
Are We Having Fun Yet?" by Char Wenc.
I learned more in
this little 58 page book about parenting than from any other
source. Author, Char Wenc is a clincial counselor, former
teacher, and parent who offers incredible insights to raising
our children. One of my favorite things she mentions is
that we should not be afraid to give our children responsibility
around the house. It shapes them to be responsible adults
and shows them that you don't get everything in life for
free. I also love how she talks about ways we can offer
positive self talk to build our children's self esteem.
She shows how even when our children our punching all our
hot buttons, that we can be gentle, yet firm. And lastly,
she shares who we as parents can teach our kids not to cave
into peer pressure.
I think they should
give this book to all parents as soon as their kids graduate
preschool. I defintately learned a lot from this book! Thanks
